Here’s the new sophisticated me.

Well, OUtopia didn’t work out. The OU were paying for it, and decided they couldn’t afford it. It might have been linked to how many people were using it, but I think they were saving money full stop. Well, fees have gone up,  and I suppose they couldn’t justify frivolity. Only it would have been good for them to recognise that Uni is about socialising too.

Anyway, a potted history. We voted for a name for the island, and my name won. OUTOPIA. Yay. It wasn’t well used, but a few of us had parties, treasure hunts, quizzes etc. And we all had different houses, many built by residents. I thought this wouldn’t work, as originally we had a really pretty coordinated English village. But it looked good.

Well, the site was demolished, and although I said I would never spend much money on SL I really wanted a place of my own, so I succumbed, and bought land on CQ’s island. There are several OU bods there, and NO DRAMA. All the people are really nice. (There were a couple of drama queens in Outopia). I have a plot and house, and I also have a Skygarden which is private, and I can dress up and down, tryingout clothes here in privacy.

Since the early days I’ve improved on my avatar (this is Aileen speaking, not Titiana) and can’t believe how newbie like I was originally. I’m going to get Titiana to post photos of herself, her house, garden and skygarden soon. Also, some photos of the party we had yesterday.

No apologies. Well, it’s not my fault I haven’t posted for over a year. It’s Aileen’s. Anyway, watch this space, folks. New things happening. Outopia is being revamped. I’ll post some old pictures very very soon, and then document the new island. So, as I said, WATCH THIS SPACE.

There’s been some discussion recently about Outopia not being used very much. In the old days at Shokolov Halls we had great times. I think the difference was the flats were based in a circle  around a public area, and you could go to your flat and see if anyone was below. In Outopia, idyllic as it is, we are more isolated in our pretty little cottages. We are discussing what to do about this, and Tori rezzed a Chat Square on the Village Green to see if it would help. (We have a pub, but it doesn’t seem to work as a social centre) Anyway, here are some of us chatting (what else) on the Chat Square.

I can’t believe it’s so long since Aileen allowed me to post.  I guess it’s cos she has a new grandchild.Not that I’m jealous. Anyway, I have to do a tutorial for LOL and will upload it here. It’s on making a Charles Rennie Macintosh chair. I’ve been looking at the other tutorials I’ve done, and found they’re not on here either. Oh dear. I  will be busy this week. In the meantime I will upload a couple of piccies of moi. Not that I’m vain or anything. Just a bit self-absorbed.

This is the result of one of the tutorials I did for the OU. Pretty basic. Since then I’ve had a tan and changed my makeup. For the better I hope.

I’ve been really busy lately. Dress making, and even having a go at hair again. This peachy dress is actually a mistake, I think, as the frilly top layer shouldn’t be there. But hey, I like it.

Then, we had a Freshers’ Ball as there are a lot of new OU people joining us on SL. It was a formal occasion, and I usually bum around in jeans and tops, so I had to get out the virtual needle and sew myself an outfit. See this oh so romantic photo.

All that was missing was a beau to accompany me.

Well, I know Aileen has been away for Christmas, but she’s also spent an awful lot of time making hair and following other tutorials. She’s completely neglected me.

Anyway, she’s found a good tutorial on taking photos in SL, so hopefully she will let me take a few. I really must put up some photos of my new tops.

Funny thing, I only ever seem to have casual tops and jeans. Just like Aileen in RL. I think I’ll have a go at something really sophisticated for the Freshers’ Ball on Friday. Only thing is – Aileen has a TMA due in then, and she’s not getting on with it. Hope I can make the Ball.

That reminds me – my OUtopia friends put on a really good pantomime just before Christmas. Oh I have so many photos to put up here. Just hope Aileen gives me some time.

Ooh there’s a lovely ice rink on Outopia. Great fun. Hatshepsut gave me her skates and magically seemed to keep them at the same time. Second Life is so wonderful. And I can skate too. Although Aileen’s only been a couple of times in Real Life as she’s not really the sporty type. Anyway, here’s a photo.

I don’t think I’ll be doing any Hair Tutorials in the near future, but I spent a long time yesterday making the following.

I made the top as well. And the bracelet. I bet Aileen wishes she was as talented in RL. (Real Life)

We had good fun in Tori’s hot tub the other evening.Good clean fun obviously. I went home to check a tattoo I didn’t know I had, and when I came back everyone was in someone else’s allotment which was covered in snow. Then we moved to another one, and I’m afraid we played football with a coffee table that hadn’t been secured. In RL we’d be trespassers and hooligans. I hope the residents whose hospitality we abused didn’t mind. It was all just a bit of fun. Here’s the hot tub!
